Hours may change due to staffing shortage. We found this cute little restaurant and decided to check it out. Welcome What trip to the seaside would be complete without sampling fish and chips and where better than at Hadley’s? Hadley’s first opened its doors in 1937. Its founder Alan Hadley believed in a quality product at a good price.

His beliefs have continued through the years and now with over 85 years experience in the industry we have perfected the humble fish and chips. From traditional fish and chips, to salads, vegetarian and vegan options! In recent years we’ve been voted Whitby’s Best Fish and Chips by the readers of the Whitby Gazette and continue to be a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike! British potatoes, MSC certified fish, home-cooked mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce. Enjoy your fish and chips with our wonderful sides, in the restaurant or as a take away! Our Restaurant Come and enjoy a meal in our comfortable and relaxing restaurant – we can seat up to 120 in our ground floor  and upstairs dining rooms. Our Take Away We’re not only a restaurant, we also serves a fantastic range of delicious take-away meals to enjoy away from the restaurant premises.

And now you can enjoy Hadley’s fish and chips on the go. You can’t miss our delightful take away boxes and paper – but the real star is our wonderful fresh fish and crispy batter! Come and enjoy Whitby fish and chips at their best! Gravy to die for and curry sauce to match. However the food came out dripping in oil. Which we reckon was because the oil wasn’t hot enough.

Pity tho , menu is great! Use to Be, a Great place! Best vegan chip shop style food I’ve eaten so far. Quirky little venue with friendly staff. Unfortunately, the swap of banana blossom for the tofu is a no no from me! It has a horrible stringy texture.

It’s no where near as tasty as the old tofish. The chips portions have reduced in size too. I don’t know how to explain how sublime this place is. Sometimes I dream about the mushy pea fritters and nothing else will suffice. This is a dangerously good place. Sometimes you will also dream about their food in the future also. Visited based on TA reviews and was not disappointed.
